A 3-year-old child was shot and wounded around lunchtime Wednesday at a Westside home, at least the fifth time a youngster has been a gunshot victim in Jacksonville since February. Little has been released, but the Sheriff’s Office said the child is going to be OK following the gunshot in the 9200 block of North Whisper Glen Drive off Old Middleburg Road. A 21-year-old Jacksonville man was sentenced Wednesday to 25 years in prison in the death of his girlfriend’s young daughter. Jamarius Devonti Graham pleaded guilty in March to one count of aggravated child abuse stemming from the beating of 2-year-old Aaliyah Lewis. The offense carries a maximum sentence of 30 years.
