Jacksonville police shot a man Sunday night who apparently fled following a car chase that ended with a crash in the 300 block of East Ninth Street near Liberty Street in Springfield. The man was taken with life-threatening injuries to UF Health Jacksonville. An officer also was taken to the hospital as a precaution, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
