    A Jacksonville man died following a crash that critically injured the driver of Nissan Maxima early Sunday in Duval County, the Florida Highway Patrol said. James B. Jackson, 31, who wasn’t wearing a safety belt, died at UF Health Jacksonville. He was a passenger in the car driven by Anthony A. Jones, 39, also of Jacksonville, that crashed about 2 a.m. on Philips Highway north of Bonneval Road, according to the Highway Patrol.     Waycross police are investigating the death of a man shot early Sunday in a parking lot.
